I was told I was altruistic in the form of a poem the other day. So I had to look it up.

Altro͞oˈistik/ adjective: altruistic

  1. 1.    Showing a disinterested and selfless concern for the well-being of others; unselfish.
“It was an entirely altruistic act”
synonyms: unselfish, selfless, compassionate, kind, public-spirited

I’ve been called a lot of things. This was humbling”¦since it came from my son on the heels of some advice he wanted from his father. I guess feedback like this, especially from someone that loves me is the ultimate compliment. Thank you for seeing me Anthony. My hope to all of you is that sometime you are seen, in the light you are living your mission in.

                                                    Letter to my Father

I’ve been trying to figure out the right words to describe my gratitude for you, as well as giving myself a pat on the back for doing work. I appreciate the way you coach/parent/mentor/inspire me.

I see you as the man who gives advice when there are more options than I’m seeing. A man who pushes me to succeed for my personal growth, not yours… Altruistic.

A forgiving man who sees my gold at ALL times, and gives me reminders as softly or intensely as the situation needs. A man who encourages me. Who sees me as the man I am and also the little boy I keep safe inside of me. I see you rarely as a father society defines, but as a father God asked you to be.

I see you as a king of empathy, A king of love, A king of forgiveness who leads from behind, Who fights next to his warriors AS a fellow Warrior. I see you as a man among men who is impeccable.

I see you as an equal, A friend, A brother, A son, A partner, A shared energy force.I  see you as the mirror I may need, and I trust that”¦I see you as the man who SEES me the same way.

I see you as the spirit.

I SEE YOU!

And I dig it.                                           Anthony David Haack
